 IntroductionMosquitoes and biting flies use a combination of sensory signals to locate a warm-blooded host, including heat, light, color, shape, motion and other by-products of human activity. Power-Vac duplicates these sensory signals through the use of state-of-the-art electronic technology and proven design parameters. It traps and kills mosquitoes without requiring and open flame or harmful pesticides, relying instead on natural active attractants delivered in an easily replaceable cartridge. All electrical components, moving parts and attractants are safely contained within the unit, and children and pets will not be able to come into accidental contact with them. The Power-Vac is designed for indoor use. Power-Vac can be used either as a standalone trap providing protection in a small area, or as part of a larger abatement and control system protecting an entire premise.
FeaturesThe Power-Vac is a standing unit, and should be placed indoors in a location where humans and pets will not trip and fall. All potentially hazardous components of the unit are sealed safely, so that humans or pets may not come into accidental contact. Power-Vac is designed to be left on 24/7, to provide constant protection for you and your family. Active attractants come in the form of a slow release cartridge which gradually depletes when the Power-Vac is on. Attractant cartridges are safe to handle and easy to replace.  OctenolOctenol is present in small quantities in human breath and sweat. It is odorless at the levels released by Power--Vac, and like all our active attractants, it is stored such that accidental contact is minimized. Ultraviolet LightA large variety of insect pests are attracted to ultraviolet (UV) light, as a result of the structure of their compound eyes. Insects fly towards the light until they are sucked into the trap by its powerful fan. Heated Entry VentsHeated vents simulate the body heat emitted by warm-blooded mammals that mosquitoes prey on. Oscillating LEDsColored, oscillating lights mimic animal motion, and in combination with the other active attractants, serve to lure mosquitoes and other biting insects towards the trap. The Power-Vac is principally a dry, dehydration trap. Mosquitoes and other insects are attracted to the unit, and get sucked into the trap by a powerful fan. These insects are weak flyers, and do not have the power to overcome the fan's suction. They are collected in a transparent collection tray, where they dehydrate and eventually die. Over prolonged operation, the tray may accumulate a significant amount of dead insects, at which point it should be emptied, rinsed and replaced for maximum efficiency. Power-Vac comes fully assembled, is lightweight, portable and easy to handle.
